Enhanced Transition - Pathway 4
Enhanced Transition is a two‑year, bespoke pathway designed for a small number of learners whose needs cannot currently be met through the class‑based, group learning model within our core offer.
This pathway supports learners who face significant additional barriers to education or who require a highly personalised approach. This may include learners who:
- Experience acute anxiety or mental ill‑health
- Have become disengaged from education
- Have a history of low attendance or Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
- Are assessed as work‑ready and able to sustain a fast‑track route
Enhanced Transition is delivered through 1:1 and very small‑group teaching. The curriculum prioritises core subjects, confidence‑building and emotional wellbeing.
Where appropriate, learners are gradually supported to re‑engage with group‑based vocational learning or wider college activities, either to transition into the core offer or progress directly to employment or training.
For many learners, Enhanced Transition provides a personalised bridge back into learning or towards next steps, tailored closely to individual needs and aspirations.
