Employer Engagement and Workability

At Market Field College, we have an amazing employer network who are fundamental to the successful running of all of our programmes. Our employer network helps to nurture our students and prepare them for the future.

We have fantastic relationships with employers across a multitude of industries, including Colchester Castle and Museum, Greater Anglia, Johnsons Hotel Linen, Little Pals, Little Jimmy's Preschool, Mencap, HiLo Print and Graphics, Jepco, and Blue Garden Cafe.

Does the idea of joining our employer directory appeal to you, but you’re not quite sure how it could work for your business? Take a look below to see what’s possible.

Workability

We are excited to announce the launch of our new website – Workability. Though still its infancy, we feel it is going to be an excellent resource for prospective employers.

'Work:Ability is a celebration of the incredible journeys our former students have taken as they step confidently into the world of work. Through inspiring success stories, the site shines a light on their achievements and the role Market Field College played in supporting their personal and professional growth, allowing them to discover their strengths and thrive.  These stories highlight not only their hard work and determination, but also the transformative impact of specialist education and tailored support.

Behind a secure area of the site, prospective employers will find detailed student profiles designed to help them get to know the young people joining them for work experience. These profiles offer a meaningful introduction to each student’s skills, interests, aspirations, and support needs, helping employers prepare positive, informed, and successful placements.

Work:Ability also serves as a platform to champion local businesses that demonstrate real social responsibility by partnering with us. By offering work experience opportunities, these employers play a vital role in shaping inclusive workplaces and opening doors for young people with additional needs. Their commitment strengthens our community and helps build a more diverse and equitable workforce.'
